FUN WALK, RUN, AND ROLL

Cindy had a vision that opportunities for physical activity should be accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities. She envisioned fitness as a priority and a fun way for all people to reach their full potential. To further her vision, The Cindy Miles Adaptive Fund was founded with a mission to provide support for building and maintaining an inclusive playground in Whitehall Township, PA. 

To raise funds for this, we are having two Miles for Kids events, one in Whitehall, PA, and the other in Louisville, KY (where you can also sponsor a child or young adult to run by registering them).

This is a fun, family-friendly run, walk, and roll for all abilities and ages. You may use wheelchairs, walkers, and adapted trykes. Registration will be open until the day of the event, April 13, but to receive a T-shirt, you must register by March 25.

Want to host your own event? Here’s what to know:

What:  Host your own Miles for Kids—a walk, run, and roll of any distance, not a competitive race, and may include use of walkers or wheelchairs, etc.

When: Anytime between April 5 and April 28, 2024 (T-shirt orders must be made to The Cindy Miles Fund by March 17.)

Where: Across the country at various universities, medical facilities, and communities

Who: Students, physical therapists, families, friends, of any age and ability

Why: To encourage physical fitness and participation for people of all abilities and to raise money for an inclusive playground

Price: $10 for children 12 and under, $25 for 13 and older.

5% of the net proceeds will stay local in each participating location with a donation to their local Ambucs chapter or their school's program.                                              

The Cindy Miles Adaptive Fund committee will do most of the work to set up the race.

All you need to do is:

  • Let us know you are interested by signing up for more information, no commitment.

  • Share this information with your friends, families, and colleagues.

  • Once we have a list of interested people, we will contact you with more information.

We will then ask for a designated site supervisor or group who will:

  • Set the date and time for your local event sometime between April 5 and April 28, 2024

  • Determine the location, distance, and course for your event.

  • Share the registration site with friends, co-workers, colleagues, families, and your community.  There will be a link so all participants can see the T-shirts and enter their size and payment info. No one will have to handle cash.

  • Accept the shipment of T-shirts.

  • Distribute T-shirts on the day of your event.

  • Have fun!
